sometimes when i want to watch a movie i’ll sit on the floor in front of the DVD stacks and individually assess each one and weigh the pros and cons and pit one against another and decide which one would be appropriate with my currents feelings and then i end up watching Friends

Is it just me, or do The Hunger Games books seem kind of … un-American. I know they’re technically set in America but I re-read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire and I just started Mockingjay, and there are just little things that seem un-American.
Like the fact that Katniss never says “mom” (or “mum”, for that matter), but always says “my mother”....
